This is a translation for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the German version prevails.

Protecting your data matters to us. This website is deliberately built to process as little data as possible: there are no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no embedded content from other providers. Below we explain which data is still processed, why, and on what legal basis.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits information to the server, which is stored in server log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • page or file requested
  • amount of data transferred and status code (e.g. "successful", "not found")
  • referring website
  • browser and operating system used

This data is processed solely to deliver the website, to ensure its stable and secure operation and to detect attacks or malfunctions. It is not combined with other data or analysed for marketing purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the technically sound and secure provision of the website.

The host deletes the log files, or anonymises the IP addresses in them, after no more than 7 days, unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific security incident. The host's statistics or analytics features are disabled.

A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS. IONOS processes the data only on our instructions; the website is hosted in a data centre in Germany.

3. Encryption

For security reasons, this website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by "https://" and the padlock icon in your browser), so transmitted data cannot be read by third parties.

4. No cookies, no tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services. No user profiles are created.

All fonts, images and scripts are loaded directly from this server. Visiting the website does not establish a connection to other providers (e.g. Google Fonts, content delivery networks, video platforms or social networks).

5. Storage in your browser (localStorage)

Only if you switch between light and dark view in the header does the website store your choice as a small entry in your browser's local storage (localStorage, name "4e-theme", value "hell" or "futur"), so that your chosen view is kept on your next visit. The entry remains solely on your device, is not transmitted to us or third parties, contains no identifier and cannot be linked to you. If you do not use the switch, nothing is stored; the view then follows your device's light/dark setting.

The legal basis for storing and reading this entry is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), as it is strictly necessary to provide the feature you expressly requested (keeping your chosen view). As the entry contains no personal data, the GDPR does not apply to it. You can delete it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.

6. Contact by email

If you send us an email, we process the information it contains (e.g. name, email address, content of your message and, where applicable, details of your workflows and tools) in order to answer your enquiry and, if applicable, to prepare an offer or carry out an assignment.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

The data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Correspondence relevant under commercial and tax law (e.g. offers, orders, invoices) is retained for the statutory periods of up to ten years (Section 257 HGB, Section 147 AO).

Please note that emails are not always fully protected against access by third parties in transit. Therefore, please do not send login details or passwords by email; we will exchange them securely if needed.

7. Recipients and disclosure of data

Your data is only received by service providers who support us on our instructions, namely our hosting and email provider IONOS SE. Beyond that, we only disclose data if we are legally obliged to do so or if you have expressly consented. No data is transferred to countries outside the European Union.

Providing your data is neither a legal nor a contractual requirement. Without the information in your email, however, we cannot answer your enquiry.

8. Your rights

Within the scope of the law, you have the right at any time to:

  • access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

9. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:

10. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place.

11. Changes to this privacy policy

We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
